Alex invested 25 years of professional development and entrepreneurship in the New York City spheres of finance, real estate and construction. He always had a passion for Motorsport and since he was a little kid, he’d geek out about cars and motorcycles. Growing up playing Forza & Grand Turismo, he dreamed of piloting, modifying and collecting sports cars when he got older. That dream never went away.
In 2023, Alex was introduced to the world of high performance driving education (HPDE) events through a friend he made at a local cars-and-coffee meetup. His new friend Jeff built a track-dedicated car for under $10,000, his buddy was a certified instructor and he explained how accessible this endeavor can be. You don’t have to come from money and you don’t need a super expensive sports car to get started. All Alex had to do was flush the stock brake fluid and show up at the track day.
One thing led to another and three weeks later, Alex was at a racetrack, with a dedicated instructor, in a welcoming and fun-loving group, feeling right at home. "THIS is what I've been missing" ran through his mind throughout the entire weekend of classroom and track sessions.
After attending a few HPDE events with other groups, Alex realized that not all car clubs are created equally. Not all organizers are organized, nor do they care about the experience of their participants. It was pivotal for Alex, as a novice high performance driver, to see the difference between a well-run group that pays attention to safety and that of a group that pays lip service.
As 2024 came to a close, Alex was stepping away from the construction company he had poured 12 years of sweat and ambition into, standing at a defining fork in his journey. One road was certain and played to his professional experience in real estate. The other path, twistier and less certain, beckoned him to turn his passion for motorsport into his next venture. Alex chose the twisty road, as a true enthusiast would. Burnout Motorsport was born in January, 2025.
